This was in conjunction with the Cambridge Analytica scandal this spring as it was discovered that Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, had deleted the messages that he had previously sent via Messenger. Of course, this has become a hero's life and Facebook has chosen to refrain from asking users to give everyone the same chance. Since then, Facebook has been working on a so-called unsent feature, and now it seems to be deploying. This then says explicitly "coming" in the notes of the latest version of the iOS application (Messenger 191.0).

Anyone who sends a message will have 10 minutes to delete it after they leave. As a result, Facebook Messenger differs drastically in the region compared to Whatsapp, for example, which gives users up to an hour to delete an unfortunate message. Exactly when we can see a clear version of the feature is not clear, but it has been tested since October and should therefore be very close. Even the Android app is likely to get similar functionality, but its work is nevertheless known.
