A woman has given a false alibi to a conviction for murder – released by the court of justice

The woman said in interrogation that the man was with her at the time of the murders committed at Vårväderstorget in Gothenburg in March 2015. When she left the data, the man had already been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and was waiting for the verdict be pronounced.

But she did not tell the truth, according to the prosecutor. The prosecution showed that at the time the woman was in her area and that the man could not remember either that he would have been with her during the hours in question. The woman denied having left false information.

The woman was charged with protection of criminals, but was released by the district court of Göteborgs. The district court declared that the woman could not be found guilty of crimes because the man had already been sentenced for murder by both the district court and the court when she left the data. The fact that she lied did not mean a difference in the pursuit of the man.

Now the court has also released the woman.

Beng-Olof Berggren was prosecutor in the case and believes that the woman should have been found guilty of the crime.

"I mean you can be found guilty of crimes even when the whole investigation is over, that is enough to delay the process," said Bengt-Olof Berggren.

District Court of Western Sweden shares district court Judgment certifying that the woman lied at the police hearings, but wrote in the judgment that despite the fact that it is not possible to enforce the legislation, it is possible to trap the woman to protect her from crime.

It was in March 2015 that two masked people opened fire at the automatic weapon in a restaurant in Biskopsgården District. Two people were killed and eight others injured. Seven men were convicted of murder and 24 cases of killings.
