AIK forced to leave Friends Arena – because of Timberlake

After a difficult and unexpected encounter with the Irish Shamrock Rovers, AIK continued by extension. Now the Danish Nordsjällan is waiting in the second round of the qualifying match for the Europa League.

AIK begins on July 26th and plays at home on August 2nd. A home match that will not be played at Friends Arena but at the Tele2 Arena.

The reason? The American artist Justin Timberlake appears on Friends two days before the AIK match.

"Extremely Boring"

Håkan Strandlund Deputy Director General of AIK, confirms this information.

– It is then a concert reservation on our regular arena that has been legitimate since then that we can not influence. Which means we have to play on our reserve instead of this match, "said Håkan Strandlund at the Channel Football Channel

AIK can not do much about the situation because the owner of the 39, arena of friends is not either.

– It is always extremely boring to have to go from one arrangement of Friends to another. But with the situation in Stockholm with arenas and arrangements and we are only tenants in the arena, we have difficulties to affect the tenant. We have to make the best of what's going on, says Strandlund.
