The sequel makes him impatient – despite Depp's super curtain
Amazing wonder: the crime of Grindelwald
Director David Yates, with Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Johnny Depp and Jude Law.
REVIEW OF FILM. Still, Newt Scamander's rock pockets are full of wonder, even in this sequel.
But overall, the content is visibly empty.
Adventure. Two years ago, we were called "an amazing wonder and where to find them". Of course, this may not be as good as the Harry Potter films, but we would of course know what exciting ideas like JK Rowling had for his spoken spin-off that took place long before Harry was sitting on the train for Hogwarts for the first time.
But at the time of the second movie in the series, it's easy to get impatient.
We are back in New York and we are in 1927. The lame and powerful magician Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured at the end of the first film and spent the last months in prison. But he manages to escape dramatically when transported to jail. At the same time, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) back in England after his American visit.
The Trolldomsministeriet wants to praise him and Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) in the pursuit of Grindelwald and thinks that the path that leads him through the young claim (Ezra Miller) which caused chaos in New York and would now be in Paris.
Echo of a coming fascism
It starts well with a high-flying space where Grindelwald breaks down. Johnny Depp appeared as the fastest in the first film, but now takes a bigger place. Grindelwald gives the echo of a future fascism in this twentieth century and it is easy to believe in his evil charisma, especially when we live in a time when dark ideologies are attracting voters against all rhymes and all. the resonances.
Depp looks like a painted white Malcolm McDowell with an eye borrowed by a predator. A balanced wild look with dazzling actors.
Jude Law made an effective and friendly debut in this context as a young Dumbledore from the world of Harry Potter, the wizard who had a relationship with Grindelwald ("we were more than brothers") and could not fight him. At first, reasons are unclear.

Katherine Waterston and Eddie Redmayne.
The nostalgic and touristic views of Paris do not prevent the movie from feeling like a transport distance. A small yawn between the first film, undeniably imaginative, and what to hope for will be an exciting third chapter in which the heat of the fight between Grindelwald and our heroes is botched.
Start feeling heavy
Why this series of films will be projected in five works, only JK Rowling can answer. Already now, he begins to feel heavy, with unattractive stories on the side and slow.
And honestly, the main characters, Newt and Tina, badly replace Harry, Hermione and Ron – the shy and strange charm of Redmayne is limited and Katherine Waterston disappear a little in the amount of other anonymous bribes.
