The Apple giants and competitor Samsung are fired by the Italian competition authority because they were using software that was slowing down mobile phones during the update.
Apple and Samsung bend for the same
The Italian fine amounts to 5 million euros for each of the companies. The equivalent of just over 50 million Swedish kroner that both companies have to pay.

US Apple is being fined another $ 5 million because the company has not informed its customers of the procedure to follow to manage batteries of a model.
Apple's problem concerns the Iphone 6, which, after the update, required a considerably higher computing capacity, but did not inform the customers in advance. The risk was high that the battery did not work to keep the phone running but that it was turned off.
In February 2017, a new operating system update (iOS 10.02.1) arrived, reducing the speed of phones without customers being informed before the update.
The result has been that customers have moved to a new phone faster, which critics see as the real goal of the updates.

No recognition of Apple or Samsung
Apple and Samsung both deny having deliberately worsened the situation to sell more mobile phones.
Italian fines came after complaints from consumers and consumer organizations started to take action.
Apple has confirmed the relationship, but denies their willingness to make people buy new phones.
For Samsung, it is Galaxy Note 4 where owners have been asked to install the latest version of Android.
