For three years, we have been asking for a major update for Macbook Air. On the wish list were new processors and a retina screen. Just what we got.
For four years, we have been asking for updates to the Mac Mini, which has always been forgotten. A return to old quad-core processors, new thunderbolt ports 3 or some sort of sign of life was on the wish list here. Just what we got.
Of course, everything is fine. Finally, there is a real replacement for Macbook Air. Finally, the Mac Mini has a quad-core processor as in the old 2012 model and Imac performance in a very compact housing. In addition, at a price that is not quite high.

Both computers are logical updates and essential, but we feel a little poor. None of them indicate clear direction for the future. After four years of silence, it had been so much more interesting with a new Mac mini Mac Mini – perhaps a modular Mac Mini Pro, as a small preview of the future Mac Pro.
Instead, Ipad Pro was the most exciting and funny product of Tuesday's event. In many ways, it seems like the perfect laptop: easy, thin, smart accessories and just a screen. Ipad Pro had the innovations, the new technologies. Usb-c and a new Apple pencil. Macbook Air and Mac Mini have been the main assets to catch up with other products.
While the Ipad Pro was getting the face ID, Macbook Air ended up acquiring Touch ID, a technology present in the iPhone since 2013.
While Ipad Pro had a new smart way to store and charge Apple Pencil wirelessly, Macbook Air was finally endowed with a retinal display, a term used by Apple for iPhone since 2010.
Imagine how interesting it would be for a new Mac to announce a new direction for mobile computers. Imagine if, in this way, effective with Apple, you had shown features in a new Macbook Air that we did not know we wanted. But no. Apple has given us everything we have been asking for years, and that is the problem.
Macbook Air and perhaps the Mac Mini look stable, very good updates and welcome updates – we can not wait to put our teeth into all these new gadgets. But again, it's clear that the real innovations are on the IOS page. Once again, Apple shows how it thinks about most computers of tomorrow. It's an iPad.
