Artist Petter dare to believe in himself

On October 25th, artist and rapper Petter in Nässjö gives a lecture at the Pigalle House of Culture under the title "I became an artist".

After the successful conference "Kul på vägen", he is back, Petter Alexis Askergren. Petter has been working for twenty years as an artist. Today, he is also a writer, entrepreneur and speaker. Petter was born on May 25, 1974 and grew up in Södermalm, Stockholm. At the age of seven, interest in music was awoken.

Easier to express with rap

Now, Nässjöborna has the chance to listen to Petter's journey through difficult schooling and dare to take the plunge. His stories reflect power, creativity and adversity. With determination and obstinacy, he worked against the dream of becoming an artist.

At school, he had problems reading and writing. Rap has become an easier way for him to express himself.

In 2011, he was also diagnosed with ADHD. He is now one of the most successful rappers of Sweden through the ages. He tells how to create a character as an artist and find himself.

Have read the history of art

Petter studied at Southern Latin High School and Uppsala after the history of art. In the 1990s, he became a soloist. In 1999-2005, he ran a label called Banana Republic. Petter is the most engaged Swedish artist.

Hip-hop artist Petter gave the iron at the last Summerland Live in Skara in August. He is now going to Nässjö for an appearance in Pigalle as a lecturer.

How much does the conference cost?

– For children under 19 years old, students and retirees over 65 years old, entry costs SEK 195, plus an extra charge for service charges of people helping to sell the tickets. From 19 to 65 years old, the entrance will be 295 SEK plus the supplement.

How many tickets are there?

"There are 400 seats, I hope that at least half will be sold," says Stefan Krantz, commercial developer at NBV in Nässjö.

How big was it to get Petter?

"This is a collaboration between Värnamo and Jönköping, and in two days he is walking and giving lectures in Värnamo, Jönköping and Nässjö, and we are making sure that many people want to take the opportunity to listen to Petter now when he is in the mood. He is in Nässjö and there was no problem getting him here, Petter was happy to give up.

Who is making sure that "So, I became an artist" will come to Nässjö?

– It is the association of NBV studies that organizes conferences and in Nässjö in cooperation with Nässjö Cultural and Recreational Management.
