Abandoned, lean and with severe burns on the legs. When the little bear was saved a field fire, there was not much hope. But she would turn out to be a survivor.

The little bear wandered into a burned area north of Durango in the US state of Colorado when the public service has seen. The mother was not seen and a caretaker was called.

The bear – four to five months old and weighing only 4.5 pounds – was stabbed in a tree and was sown before being cared for. The severely burned legs were broken and repaired and the patient was fed solid food and milk replacement.

Pain makes the child the most on the side to avoid fatiguing damaged body parts.

"When the bear came in, I was not sure he would survive," writes Michael Sirochman, head of the facility where he is being treated, and continues:

"But she responds very well to treatment and we believe we will be able to release her into the wild in winter, and we are very strict in reducing contact with people."

Colorado have been hit hard by fires lately. In the area where the bear was rescued on June 22, more than 2,000 homes were evacuated because of the flames, but residents have since been able to return home.
