– We dream of going to SHL, says Skedung.
We are in mid-July when we meet VIK in the acquisition of Isac Skedung in Sala. The temperature is above 30 degrees, like almost every day this summer. When it's hot, it's hard to imagine that VIK has its first training match in less than a month. But for the former league player it is not so difficult. He has already begun to prepare for the upcoming season.
– Now, in the summer, I'm trying to keep doing what we do with the team. We received a physical pass from Helena (Ambjörn, the coach of VIK, the Reds, Anm) that I try to keep, but then I try to find me too. I work with the brother, who is in Mora and goes to high school there, so we put together.
Previously, Skedung told Sport that he was aiming for VIK to finish in the top eight in the next season. Now, it seems that the dream scenario of the 21st year is not the same.
– Of course, we want to do as well as we can. We are newcomers to all Swedish hockey and have talked about being among the top eight. Then, of course, we dream of going to SHL. It's still the end goal, says Skedung
Last VIK was up at the Swedish High Court was the 1999/2000 season. An advance to SHL this spring would mean that the season will be the club's best in 19 years.

If VIK manages to lifting you will not do that with only a new acquisition related to Leksand. Skedung is not the only player to leave Dalarna for the Västmanland. William Wikman made the same trip.
– We are the best polar late in Leksand, so it's really fun. There is nothing negative about it. Both were really excited to play together, we did it in Leksand for four years, I think that's the case. So, it's really fun that both arrive in Västerås and Lira, says Skedung.
How often do you meet?
– We are well connected almost every day. Or at least we did it in Leksand. Now we will see how it goes in Västerås. Both have their girlfriend, so we're going to hang out with them too, haha. I think there will be a lot too.
What do you and Wikman find together?
– We often play at Fortnite. There will also be NHL, of course. But we also play cards or have coffee for something to be done outside the house.
During the summer, Skedung has the most contacts with Wikman. He will talk more with other teammates when the season has started.

– It will not be too much contact with teammates now, even if we talk a little bit again and again. You try to be at home as much as possible, so you meet guys for the rest of the year, haha.
Being at home is something that Skedung will catch with the recent move to VIK. Skedung is high in Sala, about 30 minutes from Västerås, compared with about a two-hour drive up to Leksand.
– I will definitely have more family contacts now that I play in VIK. Now just come home and take a kiss sometimes and bring your clothes home, so the mother will fix it, haha. Now you can come home a little more often, so it feels good. I think the family is happy with that too.
The move also brings the family in and check out more Skedung matches than before.
– They are there and support all the time. Now that I play Västerås, they can check even more often, so just give the iron. When I played at Leksand, they came a little on weekends, it's not that far either. They also usually see my matches in Almtuna and Stockholm. Now they can almost go to every home game, so it's going to be inspiring. I will try to repair the tickets for them. It's always fun when they watch.
Before the season begins and the family comes to mind when Skedung plays, VIK will begin their common training. This has not been done yet. At this moment, the players are on vacation. During this period, Skedung was in Spain with his girlfriend.
– We were in Barcelona, which was lovely. We did the classic tourist guides, including the Barcelona Football Arena. Then we also relaxed on the beach, it was wonderful. Of course, it's nice to be at home too, now that the weather is so good. But it 's still a special feeling to be abroad and to lie down on the beach.
