They went to Prague to turn around.

But Rosengård has gone well since the return meeting and is therefore eliminated from the Champions League.

"We did not achieve ambitious goals," said Sports Director Thérèse Sjögran.

Saturday, FC Rosengård fell during the Swedish competition against gold. A 4-2 defeat by Kopparbergs / Gothenburg means the team has finished the third-place series – the club's lowest position in nine seasons – thus not qualifying for the Champions League the year next.

But there was still a chance to move into the quarter-finals of this year's tournament – if the team had scored at least two goals in the return match against Slavia Prague.

Rosengård coach Jonas Eidevall said in advance that this would be necessary. "Year performance" to advance against Czechoslovakia.

"Two difficult matches in a short time"

The performance of the year was not achieved – and at the end of the heat, the result was 0-0. The team failed to eliminate the 2-3 loss of the home encounter.

Therese Sjögran, the sports director, seems extremely disappointed that the club has not achieved its goal.

– It's sad, of course. We had to score two goals but we did not succeed. That seems heavy right now – with what happened in the league as well. There were two difficult games in a short time. We had ambitious goals that we do not respect, "she told Sportbladet.

What did you think of the team's chances in advance?

"The draws are still difficult, but the goal was to go to the quarterfinals," said Sjögran.

– We will evaluate this during the coming week, for the moment, it is difficult to say more.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the spring – and even for those who meet in the semifinals – will take place on November 9 in Nyon, Switzerland.
