Uwe Rösler took over Malmö FF this summer.
He now thanks the former coach of the MFF, Åge Hareide, for that.
"He'll have a nice bottle of red wine the next time I meet him," he told VG.
German coach Malmö FF, Uwe Rösler, took over the reigning Swedish champion this summer after Magnus Pehrsson was dismissed by the club. He then reversed the negative trend of the team in allsvenskan and brought MFF to the group league in Europa League.
Malmö's CEO, Niclas Carlnén, said this summer that Hareide was at the center of the game when Rösler was named new coach and that Germany now chooses to thank the former coach of the MFF and the current federation of Denmark for its mission.
"I'm a respite, thank you very much, he will receive a good bottle of red wine the next time I meet him," he told the Norwegian newspaper VG.
"Åge Hareide and I have known each other for a long time.We have Manchester City together and I know that age mentioned my name for the direction of Malmö several times. And finally they called, asked for a meeting and soon after I've signed a contract with the club. "Thank you Åge, he continues.
Uwe Rösler and Åge Hareide belonged to both Manchester City during their active football career. Rösler played in the English club between 1994 and 1998, while Hareide had a slightly shorter victory between 1981 and 1982 in Manchester.
