India asks for help to stop the kidnapping

The Indian computer authority asked the WhatsApp management to take several technical measures to prevent the rumors of kidnapping abandoning the WhatsApp chat in India in the spring continue to spread, Reuters reports.

"We expressed our disapproval of this development to the management of WhatsApp and advised it to take the necessary steps," writes the Indian Computer Authority in a statement.

On Tuesday, WhatsApp responded to the authority in a letter that Reuters shared. There, the computer company writes that "you are astonished at the violence that the rumors have caused".

According to the letter, WhatsApp should provide its users with control and information to increase security and conduct a campaign to inform and prevent the spread of rumor and false information.

WhatsApp also writes that the government, civil society and technology companies must work together to stop and prevent the spread of false news, misinformation and rumors.
