May be cold in the Arctic weeks in a row

Now, winter is fast approaching and the darker days and cooler weather are not to be missed. The snow has already fallen in most of the country. In the north, it is common, but it was a shock when most of Sweden and Småland fell heavily in late October.

After that, we had a pretty mild weather for two weeks and the cloud of clouds suffered an iron raid on the country. But if you think about the long-term forecasts of the Danish Meteorological Institute DMI, cooler temperatures might be here soon.

"I think it will be cold in late November and early December, and then it will probably be a more lenient period," he says. Martin Lindberg, meteorologist at DMI in Aftonbladet.

Snow guns are expected

DMI predicts that the winter will be generally colder than normal and that December can offer a lot of snow.

Martin Lindberg tells Aftonbladet that a high high pressure can produce wind from the cheese and the northeast. This can, in turn, create "snow cannons" that will lead to precipitation along the coast.

Polarvirveln crucial

But the true freezing cold is given by DMI towards the end of winter, end of January and February. A prerequisite for good cooling to get here is that the polar spine is cracking. Keeping it intact prevents the cold in the Arctic, but it's not always possible to do it.

"If the polarviral breaks down at the end of December or early January, it can be very cold, then it is not a few days without several weeks in a row with the cold, I think it will be cold in late January and early February, "said the meteorologist Martin Lindberg in Aftonbladet.

Martin Lindberg says that it's important to keep in mind that long-term forecasts are still uncertain, but what he can see now suggests that winter is usually over cold than normal.
