When creative ideas never ended, Movits was not limited – they are now releasing a double album. Although the first album has been in the last ten years, the group is constantly developing. "Soon, I can rap like that sounds in my head," says Johan Rensfeldt.
Norrbotten Movits is back – this time with a double album. Ten years have passed since the first plate. "I am very happy to be able to feel during ten years in my career that I am learning new things." Soon, I can rap as I say in my head, "says Johan Rensfeldt.
At a time when most singles and epics are coming out, the Nordic hip-hop / jazz group Movits goes against the tide. Johan Rensfeldt, Anders Rensfeldt and Joakim Nilsson are back and publish the first part of the double album "V".
Trion is largely guided by the tours – despite this, Movits took a longer break from his concerts before the upcoming release to find out which direction they wanted to take.
"This is our fifth album, the competition is more difficult than ever and we would like to try, what is Movits 2.0?" We did not want to be a tired band recording their fifth album, we would not do all or nothing, we would not do that, "said Johan Rensfeldt.
Movits made its debut with "Apple Knockerjazz" 2008, an album that earned them a ticket for the American program "The Colbert Report". The television show has opened even more doors in the United States, making it the best list of hip-hop itunes.
But, purely musically, Movits stands out from the others in the genre with its swing fluctuations.
– With regard to Swedish hip-hop and the urban scene, what has been dominant is the one we do not know. Relatively minimalist, but also different in what you talk about topics. So we thought, "What are we doing well, then we are all responsible," says Joakim Nilsson.
On "V", it became more spicy and more puffed. They have made songs wholesale and want to find joy and spontaneity.
"If you play the ice-skating race and lower the level, then you're right," continues Johan Rensfeldt.
The album is partly political, including the song "Duvor", which describes different parts of Sweden. For Johan Rensfeldt, lyrics are an important part of Movit's music – although the international audience has trouble understanding Swedish lines.
"The first time we played in Japan attracted a lot of fans and we sung phonically, they know how to sing very well," said Joakim Nilsson.
TT: But do not they understand that they do not understand the text?
– Yes, but it's the same as "fan, what, I'm going to die". There are two other options, one in English, and we do not want it. The second option is to teach all Japanese to speak Swedish before the concert, "explains Johan Rensfeldt.
During the winter, Movits will perform four concerts, in addition to the three largest cities, they will also stay in the hometown of Luleå.
– I think we did not release the fifth album unless we laughed. You want to do more and bigger stuff to play live. The live track was very important to us as a group, "said Anders Rensfeldt.
