Facebook Messenger goes from nine to three tabs in one of the largest application design projects. Messenger 4 was introduced this spring and is now ready for public release, reports Engadget.
Over the years, Facebook has added more and more features to Messenger, making the interface complicated and conspiring, "said Facebook at an event in San Francisco.
In the new design, there are three tabs: Cats, People and Discover. During the discussions you will find all the conversations. People have all your friends and Discover has stores and other businesses with which you may want to get in touch, but also Facebook's Instant Games games.
The interface has also been improved with shortcuts to common functions. For example, you can drag a friend to the side to send a photo or make a video call. The Stories feature is preserved and you can access it from Chat and People.
The updated application has already begun to be deployed to users.
