The Repubblica Metro Station is located in the center of Rome, a few kilometers north of the Olympic Stadium where Rome defeated CSKA Moscow 3-0 in the Champions League.
Around 19:00, an escalator sank in Repubblica.
"No one in the subway"
A television clip shows how travelers, mostly Russian fans, fall uncontrollably into the lampshades.
"This only happened for fans of CSKA in Rome after the failure of an escalator.Most fans would have been injured," writes football journalist Artur Petrosjan on Twitter. It updates:
"Nobody died in the Rome metro, a dozen fans had broken bones, a little serious"

According to the BBC, the number of injured is up 30, some serious. A person should have damaged the foot so appropriately that parts of it had to be amputated.
The Italian Italian Il Messaggero writes that the escalator was ten years old, which is fairly recent in this context, and that the accident may be due to the fact that fans have jumped and have sung.
"We heard a broken one when he fell in. There was no time to save," said an eyewitness to Il Messaggero.
