Samsung investigation into the application reportedly sent images to random contacts

Testimonials about problems with the Samsung message application are thankfully still few. There also seems to be a growing number of users using the US carrier T-Mobile, and if it's Samsung's messaging app with some operators, or something else than the ghosts are not clear. But the bug is at least scary. Briefly, the message application sends images selected at random from the phone's storage memory to randomly selected contacts. Some users testify that the whole thing seems to happen without any given scheme, while others claim that it 's about sending pictures previously shipped. A person testifies to Reddit about how his girlfriend received all her gallery through the application. What makes things even more confusing is that there are no logs showing that messages have been sent.

Unclear what happened

Samsung has not yet commented on the data, but has now published a statement on the Mashable website, which reads as follows: "We are aware reports on the subject and our technical team all ". Customers in difficulty are referred to Samsung Technical Support. As we still do not know what caused the problems, it is impossible to report a guilty party at this time. It can of course work from any malicious code, faulty phones or problems with some operators. Early theories indicate that this could be a bug in the interaction between the Samsung application and the T-Mobile RCS profile updates, although it is far from being guarantee for the moment. It seems that it is a problem quite severely limited, and nothing indicates for the moment that Swedish users have experienced similar problems.
