We usually use the mobile chipset as a measure of performance when it comes to new mobile phones. but that's far from the only thing that affects the performance of the mobile phone. If the phone fails to send enough data to and from memory, it becomes a bottleneck that controls performance.
So we hope to be able to improve performance again next year, because Samsung's new channels will appear on mobile phones. The company has begun producing 8 gigabit memory circuits with the new LPDDR5 technology
The current LPDDR4 standard was launched in 2014. LPDDR5 will offer a data transfer rate of just over 50% to LPDDR4 . The main reason for the improvement is that the LPDDR5 circuits are manufactured in a more finely divided semiconductor process, 10 nm, compared to 20 nm for LPDDR4
Perhaps just as important is that the new circuits deduce 30 % less energy than their predecessors. Plus, they should have a "hibernate mode" that further reduces power consumption when the phone is in hibernation mode. This mode will be 50% more energy efficient than the energy saving mode in the best memory circuits of today.
Samsung says that it will start mass production "in line with customer demand", Samsung and other mobile manufacturers. There is no timetable, but we can expect that the memory circuits start to appear in the best models next year, like the Samsung Galaxy S10 and even Oneplus 7, because the company has always asked for the fastest memory circuits.
