The classic "Sabrina Teenswitch" is back in the new vintage.
But not everything falls in the taste.
Now, Netflix is being chased by the Satanists – to spread the "satanic panic".
Last week, the television series "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" was premiered on Netflix. The series is a remake of the 90s class "Sabrina Teenswitch" Melissa Joan Hart had his head and received rice and praise.
Now the group of satanic activists The Satanic Temple threatens to sue Netflix for justice. The temple is a founder Lucien Greaves Herald Sun wrote on Twitter this Sunday that her organization would "act".
Want to spread "satanic panic"
The reason behind the mood is that the television series in its description of the goddess Baphomet takes hold of the "Copyright Protected Design" of the satanic temples.
The group also accuses Netflix of spreading a "satanic panic" by portraying a picture of Satanism that Satanists themselves simply do not share.
In the series, Baphomet Satan represents Sabrina's great sworn enemy, whom she must fight all season long.
Lucien Greaves says that the design of their Baphomet took more than a year and cost them more than 900,000 euros. He points out that their version was copied directly to "portray a cannibalistic cult," according to Herald Sun.
That's Baphomet
But there is not a single story behind Baphomet. In the 1300s, the temples were falsely accused of worshiping the god. As a result of torture, several knights recognized their cult, which allowed the King of France to persuade the pope to dissolve the words.
However, the symbol of God, the Sabbath goat, only came in 1856, when the occult writer Eliphas Levi wanted to express his perception of the balance of opposites. The drawing of the large winged figure with the head and the pentagram later became a strong symbol of darkness.
Several artists subsequently used the symbol in their works. In 1961, the French Maurice Bessy published a book on the supernatural. The book was wearing a cover with an interpretation of Baphomet. Seven years later, the leader of the Church of Satan, Anton LaVey, who later wrote the satanic Bible, covered the album "The Satanic Mass" of 1968. It is at this moment that Baphomet became more and more associated with satanism and black magic.
"Aback"
The satanic temple was founded after the church of Satan and sees itself as an updated version of "Satanism LaVey", but it was only in 2015 that they showed their the world's own Baphomet. Their image of Baphomet has two children and is also the version that created the sound of Netflix.
The reactions were mixed. On Twitter, Greaves writes:
"I'm surprised somebody is confused because we are seeking redress, because Sabrina is using our monument, would not it be understandable that a fictional series uses a real mosque as the headquarters of a terrorist cell?"
