✓ On October 4 only, Saudi Arabia commented on the event. It was later stated that the journalist had left the consulate and then disappeared.

"We will search and punish with determination those responsible for the murder," he said.
The Foreign Minister added that he did not know how Khashoggi was dead and that he did not know where the body was.
✓ A little more than three weeks after the incident, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman himself commented on the murder. He called it a "disgusting event". He also said that he was cooperating with Turkey and that "justice will prevail".
