Starcraft II's Finnish star Joona "Serral" Sotala became the only non-Korean player to win the Starcraft II World Championship after stabbing Kim "Stats" Dae Yeob under BlizzCon in Anaheim. Zerg's Serral opened with a solid lead (3-0) but Stats fought back and was reduced to 3-2 before Serral finally won the crucial round.
After his victory, Gamereactor Serral came to ask how was the first non-Asian player to win the championship, after which he replied:
"Honestly, I do not like to think of it that way, I see everyone as a person, they are a champion, a champion is a champion."
He then added:
"I think I had a pretty good preparation, not necessarily for the final, I did not have too much time to prepare myself, so I was rather open minded in that The series is about to disappear. "
