THEATER. "I would like to change everything and make the revolution!" S exclaims Katja Kock, frustrated by the fact that men stand up and stand up and that women always pass in second position. The cup overflows when her father does not buy a new dress for her, so that she can not go to the prom of the students. She still decides to go to the ball, carrying her brother Currys frack (which dad of course bought him). The opacity of Katja poses a great scandal in the conservative Wadköping
"Girl in Frack" by Hjalmar Bergman arrived in 1925, four years after the women had the right to vote in Sweden. Today, almost a hundred years later, women's struggle is still going on. As Katja Kock says in the finale of the play: "It must be the longest revolution in the world …"
Agneta Pleijel really deepened and developed the history of Bergman. We meet Katja, the boyfriend Ludwig, the brother Curry and all the others in the different stages of the life. The manifest of SCUM and #metoo are also included in a natural way.
All this is said in the form of a kind of review of all the songs, with song and dance songs regularly added. The crowd rubs the beat of famous melodies like "Jazzgossen", "On the sunny side of the street" and "Fly me to the moon". Older jazz songs are part of the action and help create the right atmosphere, especially those sung in Swedish translation. Some numbers, however, do not add much, look more like a kind of entertainment paus and could have been removed or replaced.
The whole breeze several times the "fourth wall", introduces itself and addresses directly to the public. It creates a familiar and welcoming atmosphere, characteristic of Wetterholm's Stadra concept
Sofia Berg Böhm is a real find. She makes Katja with a lot of radiance and conviction. She sings well, too. Like Rune Jakobsson, who is brilliant as count Ludwig von Battwhyl spoiled and sad. Bodil Carr Granlid is particularly good as a hardworking woman's wife, Britta. Magnus Wetterholm and Eva Haldert each have several different roles, more caricatural characters that attract the joyful laughter of the audience. The young people of Stadra School also offer charming songs and dance songs.
Johan Graden, on the wing, deserves special mention. Something wonderful about live music instead of being recorded, especially when it is performed by such a talented jazz pianist.
Some prominent artists could be anas and the text was not perfect for everyone. But now we run. Phew. The feminist struggle continues!
