Sven-Göran Eriksson confirms:

It takes over as the federation of the Philippines.

"You might as well be in Manila and Dubai in winter as you are in Värmland," said the 70-year-old GP driver.

It has been worn and tassels for a while. This summer, we learn that the Swedish coach Sven-Göran Eriksson, aged 70, was the current federation of Iraq and Cameroon. Last weekend, it was discovered that "Svennis" was ready for the post of the Philippine Federation.

"It is not clear yet, but discussions have taken place," said the 70-year-old at the Göteborg post.

And now, he's confirming his new job.

"Asked for help"

According to the same newspaper, "Svennis" goes to the Philippines on Thursday to sign the contract. According to GP, the agreement expands on the Asian championship in January next year.

"Everything will be clear then, I decided," he told GP.

"In particular, there are two tournaments, one now in mid-November and then the Asian Cup in January, and they just asked for help during that time," continues Svennis.

The trained coach has been unemployed for a little over a year. For GP, he thinks that work in the Philippines could "be fun" and that he "would like to be in Manila and Dubai in winter as well as at home in Värmland".

"Do not say I followed them"

GP: What do you know about Filipino football?

"I have been there and I have watched them, but I will not say that I followed them. Most players are grown and born somewhere in Europe or Brazil. There are a lot of Westerners who have a mother or father from the Philippines.

The Philippines is currently ranked 116th in the world.

Sven-Göran Eriksson has previously coached national teams such as England, Ivory Coast and Mexico, as well as club teams such as Leicester, Manchester City, Rome, Benfica and Lazio.
