Alcazar celebrates 20 years as a group this year – and goes to bed.
Discotrion gave the message in a press release earlier this year.
Tess Merkel speaks of the feelings of the split:
– This is sadness, sadness, sadness, grief, happiness and joy. But most of all, a lot of gratitude, because we've been doing this for 20 years. And we want to thank the public, of course, who has been with us for 20 years. It looks like Alcazar has taken gold in a disco. And that 's good, we can actually move forward in life and put the mirror ball back to someone else.

Tess Merkel: "A divorce"
She describes the process as a divorce:
– As a divorce that we do not want to leave. But it is sometimes useful to go ahead and look for new ways.
When the group announced in February that it would be split, Trion said in a statement:
"There were 20 years of heart, pain, challenges, conquests, melodic festivals and all that matters today, we are better, stronger and more fun than ever.We have a good year ahead of us, it is the 20th anniversary of Alcazar and it is there. There is none that we would rather celebrate than all the amazing Alcastars out there.This is also our chance to personally thank all the fans, old and new.We will dance all night, as if tomorrow wasn''t there, then our mission is over. "
This fall is performed during a farewell tour. It will be presented on October 5 in Halmstad.
998, the group was created by Andreas Lundstedt, Tess Merkel and Annikafiore Kjaergaard. Later, Magnus Carlsson joined and the band became a quartet.
The group participated in the Melodifestivalen 2003 with "Not a sinner nor a saint" and in 2005 with "Alcastar" before taking a break.
2007, the group meets, but Kjærgaard and Carlsson were skipped and replaced by Lina Hedlund. Since then, the band has participated in Melodifestivalen three more times, 2009 with "Stay the night", 2010 with "Headlines" and 2014 with "Blame it on the disco".
