"That's why I cut off my arm"

Actor Todd LaTourrette had minor roles in television shows such as "Better Call Saul" and "The Men Watching the Goats" of the 2009 film with stars such as Ewan McGregor, George Clooney and Kevin Spacey.

Todd LaTourrette is best known for his ties.

Something he has always claimed is due to a war injury.

But now, the actor from Albuquerque, in the state of New Mexico in the United States, has acknowledged that his life, and a part of his acting career, was a lie.

In an interview with the local TV channel KOB4 told Todd LaTourrette that he deliberately saw his right hand just over 17 years ago.

– I cut my hand with a circular saw. I was then in a psychosis, he says in the interview.

After cutting his hand, he burned the stump of his arm to close the wound and prevent infections. A method called cauterization.

Todd LaTourrette is suffering from bipolar disorder, but says he stopped taking the medication that had been administered to him at the time.

According to the actor, the idea was that the injury would give him more and better acting assignments.

The event was, for example, one of the main reasons he won a role in the hit series "Better Call Saul".

Todd LaTourrette acknowledges that he got the role because he lied.

"The film industry obviously looked at me with other eyes when she saw me with my arm, that I was different and they like that," says Todd LaTourrette in the KOB4 interview.

"I kill my career"

He has always sold himself as a wounded veteran during an international job.

In this interview, Todd LaTourrette says that he has a lot of debt over the years and that he does not expect any pardon.

– I was dishonest. I kill my career by saying that, and if anyone thinks it's for his personal interest, it's not the case. I probably excluded from the film industry in New Mexico. But I would just like to tell you this.

At the same time, Todd LaTourrette hopes to be able to warn people living with mental health.

His message: take medicine and listen to your body.

– You have the power to take medicine in the morning or evening. So, as I tell my life, it does not have to apply to you as well. Because soon, it's going very fast, he tells KOB4 television channel.
