The creators of "Rick and Morty" apologize for the 2009 clips | MovieZine

The clip should have been an attempt to parody "Dexter", showing Dan Harmon breaking into a house and raping an infant doll.

In 2009, when the clip was released by Harmon, one of two creators behind "Rick and Morty", he realized that it had become too hard and went down the same day. Nearly 10 years later, the clip was "found" by someone and reprinted.

Harmon has, through Variety, apologized for the clip.

– In 2009, I made a "pilot" who had to parody "Dexter", but only managed to be upset. I quickly realized that the material was too tasteless and I immediately took the video. No one should have ever seen what you needed to see, and for that I apologize.

Dan Harmon.

Just like James Gunn, the new director and screenwriter of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Disney, Harmon has now been forced to apologize for a 10-year (but tasteless) joke about child abuse.

Unlike Disney, Adult Swim (the channel shown "Rick and Morty" in the US) chose to stand alongside Harmon. They point out that the clip was tasteless and had nothing to do with their values. But they understand that Harmon is another person today, and most importantly, will not create similar content with them.
