The state was recently sentenced by the district court to pay 1.2 million kroner to Talma Samby, who has her pastures in the Kiruna municipality. The reason for this is the decision to extend the Swedish-Norwegian Reindeer Convention from 2002 to 2005.

Talma Sameby states that over the past three years, the state has raised cohabiting land in one district Norwegian without permission from Talma. According to the district court, this violated collective rights.

However, now the state appeals the judgment rendered by the Chancellor of Justice and writes briefly that it is not believed that the verdict is correct. The state represented by JK also considers that a precedent is required, a decision of the Supreme Court.

In addition, the state is asking for more time until September 7 to file a full appeal.

The government has already, in a settlement with Talma Sameby already paid nearly $ 10 million in compensation for additional work that had collapsed by the three-year extension of the 39, reindeer agreement with Norway until 2005.
