On Monday, the Spanish islands of Mallorca and Menorca met during a so-called mini-tsunami. The waves measuring one and a half meters strike the beaches and cause great floods.
The mini-tsunami, currently known as ununami meteor, is causing problems for restaurant and café owners on the most affected beaches. The port city of Cituadella, on the island of Menorca, was the most affected by meteorites. But the beaches on Mallorca's holiday paradise have been greeted by the waves, writes Daily Mail.
Tsunami was a shock to those on the island and, according to video witnesses, the boat owners in Mallorca were fighting to protect their boats. But despite persistent attempts to secure the boats, the underwaves have created major problems for the owners. Problems caused the unloading of the rope of a state-owned sailboat and strong currents ripped it off the sea. But the event never became particularly dramatic, but shortly thereafter it was possible to secure and tow the boat to the harbor.
Fortunately, the mini tsunami struck when most people had left the beaches for the day. And there has been no report that anyone should have been hurt by the weather phenomenon, reports Daily Mail.
Although a ununami meteor is less than a common tsunami, it is far from being harmless. In 1979, a mini-tsunami entered the Japanese port of Nagasaki, which claimed the lives of three people.
