The German Sebastian Vettel showed that he was shaking last weekend in Hockenheim while it was time to train at Hungaroring on Friday. Vettel was looked for the fastest time in the second practice session, ahead of Max Verstappen (+0.074) and Daniel Ricciardo (+0.227), while Kimi Raikkonen (+0.319) was fourth.
Mercedes has a lot to do before Saturday's troubles, when Lewis Hamilton (+0.753) and Valtteri Bottas (+1.034), fifth and sixth, were really slower than Vettel. However, according to the team's official report, neither Hamilton Hamilton, who leads the world championship series, scored seventeen points before Vettel, or Bottas with the open register, indicating it will be an uncertain qualification.
Ricciardo was fastest while Vettel (+0.079) dug before Verstappen (+0.088). After them, the order was the same – Raikkonen (+0.335), Hamilton (+0.423) and Bottas (+0.857).
– The path of Hungary is always very different from the others. Hettan has just started to act and now we are adapting to the circumstances and the way the tires work here. Hopefully we'll be ready when it's time to get in trouble, said Toto Wolff, director of Mercedes Stall, at the press conference that followed the first training session.
