8.13 million switch units to 8.07 million PS4
Nintendo has a lot of things to celebrate, as they have just surpassed the PS4, which looks like a monster, in terms of Switch's lifetime sales in Japan. According to Famitsu, the small hybrid console is sold to 8.13 million units in this region, more than the 8.07 million Sony on PS4. Note that Sony is three years older on Nintendo: a feat!
Japan however represents only a fraction of the PS4 market. While the region is at the aforementioned brand of 8.07 million items sold, Sony has crossed the 96.8 million mark. This is just in view of the Wii's lifetime sales (101.63 m), which, if exceeded, will place the PS4 in the list of the five best selling systems of all time.
The delivery? Both are going extremely well. Sony is also poised to grab fourth place vendors of all time (102.49 million PSOnes) by the time of entering the PS5 era, and Nintendo will continue to push his mantra of "multiple switches per household" up to the bank.
The Switch still has a long way to go to get closer to the global glory of the PS4. In fact, he has to sell 50 million more units to access the top 10 of the list of all time. It's an ambitious goal but I think Nintendo's heart is on it.
