Joia Talbott wanted to get a job as a swimsuit for the Miami Swim Week. The cast for the KYA Swim label but worked differently than expected. She and 10 to 15 other models with dark skin were refused. "They told us that they do not want black models and that Afros are banned," says Talbott to "Cosmopolitan."
"You, Your Hair, No"
Casting officials stopped the black models and put shiny guys aside to take them to the casting hall in another way.

"Someone should tell Miami that brown skin does not exist."
Joia used Moment and drums of other black models together for a group photo in a swimsuit. The message is sharply shared. Also a video in which she expresses her criticism. Another model addresses directly to Swimming Week officials and says, "Someone should tell Miami that there is no brown skin."
The criticized swimwear label is concerned. The statements are deeply troubling and will look very closely at the procedures of the casting company. "We are proud of a diversified portfolio."
