Album of the Week: Years and Years, "Palo Santo"

The British band plays in a future where androids admire us. Olly Alexander, leader of Years & Years, has become one of the spearheads of the LGBTQ movement in recent years. On the new album "Palo Santo", the British dream now of a future in which the genre no longer plays a role.

To explain the concept of "Palo Santo", Years & Years has released a short film. In this one, an android goes in search of people. The cool robots that have now taken the whole world envy us emotions and Olly Alexander is chosen to entertain the new, impartial leaders.

"Do you like men or women?" Alexander wants to finally know his boss. The answer: "For me, it's the same."

Ironically, the music on "Palo Santo" does not seem really futuristic. The electro pop sound is more reminiscent of the eighties and nineties. "Hallelujah" evokes memories of Michael Jackson, and the single "Sanctify" was inspired by "I'm Slave 4 You" by Britney, as Alexander admits himself.

Although the music does not fully reflect the story of the album, According to the singer, the lyrics are mainly addressed to an ex-boyfriend – "Palo Santo" is a strong statement today, in which sexual preferences merge, no one knows exactly where technological progress will take us, and from time to time remember how important humanity is.

Video of the Week: Nicki Minaj – "Lit" (Ariana Grande feat)

Nicki Minaj knows how to use her charms, and also the video for "Bed" would almost need a release ab-18. The chorus also includes Ariana Grande, who presents herself with similar generosity.

All bare skin diverts slightly the fact that it's actually a suspenseful song – which would require the two to put something in, but would not be a spoilers, but simply Nickis' role would not understand.
