The organizers of the Walensee scene in Walenstadt SG spoke Saturday of a "successful musical summer". Thanks to the special time luck, not one of the 22 shows has been postponed this year. This had never existed in the Walensee era. The number of visitors to each show was similar to that of the previous year.

The world-famous French novel "Beauty and the Beast" is one of the oldest folk tales. She has inspired many television series, animation films, cartoons and musicals. The professional ensemble of 24 members and the orchestra of eleven members on the Walensee have performed the first musical version of the fairy tale, which was created in Germany in 1994.

The next production on the stage of Walensee is planned for 2020. Which piece is played, the organizers want to announce it at the end of the year 2019.

This year, the Walensee-Bühne had interrupted its previous rhythm of two years, in which musicals are played, and preferred a performance for this year. The multipurpose hall in Walensee, which can be used for rehearsals, will be rebuilt in 2019. The production of "Hair", announced for next year, has been canceled.
