HAMBURG – Turkish Airlines sits on the Airbus A350-900. Airbus even received a second major order for the plane in June.

American Airlines, which canceled an order for 22 A350-900s in April, placed the A350 program backlog in the red. In June, Airbus offset the cancellation. Turkish Airlines confirmed on June 08 an order of 25 A350-900s.

June 28, another buyer moves in: Airbus takes note of an order of ten A350-900, an anonymous customer. During the first half, 50 orders were only offset by the withdrawal of American Airlines: the balance of the program is again positive with 28 net orders

Airbus enters the Farnborough show with a total of 206 orders. Boeing has not yet released the June figures, but was already 306 new orders by the end of May and announced in June two major Jet Airways orders for an additional 75,737 MAX and the new Bamboo Airways customer from Vietnam, which ordered 20,787-9. In the first six months, Airbus delivered 303 Airliner. In June, two A350-1000s went to Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways. Despite persistent engine problems with the A320neo, the Group expects to achieve the annual target of 800 aircraft.
