FIFA World Cup 2018 ™
- Perisic and Mandzukic make Croatia their first World Cup final
- Trippier place England in fifth minute

Croatia is in the FIFA World Cup ™ finals for the first time. In the semi-finals at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, the Croats showed an early deficit and forced an overtime extension in which Mario Mandzukic scored the decisive goal.
The "Three Lions" made an almost perfect start to the match. Even after five minutes of play, Kieran Trippier took a free kick over the wall and the ball went past impotent Croatian goalkeeper Danijel Subasic.
After the break, the Croatian time has come. They increased the pressure on the English more and more. On the flank by Sime Vrsaljko then Ivan Perisic was on the spot, shooting close at close range. Barely five minutes later, Perisic suddenly had a lot of space in the English penalty area, but hit only the post with his shot. The extra margin after the rebound then landed in the arms of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
There was no more chance on either side before the remaining 90 minutes than the Inter Milan player. That meant the English had to qualify for the second time at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the Croats for the third time.
But this time, the "Vatreni" did not need shots on goal to win. Mandzukic took advantage of a lack of focus from the English team and promoted the ball into the net and Croatia for the first time in a World Cup final
