Despite complaints about noise: the festival of tension is gaining momentum – Basel Stadt – Basel

A year ago, during the festival of tension, noise complaints from annoyed neighbors rang out. This time everything should be much better: "The noise reduction measures, which imposed the Münchenstein community, are fulfilled," promises Sebastian Schmidt, co-founder of Techno-Open-Airs and owner of the same GmbH, based in Münchenstein

. The capacity of the scene scheduled for this year's edition on July 31 does not mean that it will be twice as strong. The sound systems radiate in different directions and are compensated this time. "We do not expect any problem," Schmidt is convinced. They can not use the organizers either. The tension is supposed to be an integral part of the calendar of events for many years – just like the official celebrations of August 1st.

Until early morning

With two steps, the tension will be greater this time than ever. 6,000 visitors are expected Tuesday from noon to visit the Gartenbad St. Jakob and the nearby beach of Münchensteiner Boden. At the most important open-air techno-open in northwestern Switzerland, stage stars like Welsh techno DJ Jamie Jones and euphoric Worakles from France will perform at Südbühne. Harder, stomping, technoider then sounds from the extra Nordbühne built.

This is provided by Len Faki from Berlin's techno-temple Berghain or Charlotte de Witte from Belgium. What is also part of the Tension, is the following night session: As soon as the last bass wave has invaded the garden pool, the festival moves to the clubs of Basel Viertel, Borderline and Provisorium [19659002]. at. However, as organizer Sebastian Schmidt says, "As far as ticket sales are concerned, we are already 35% more numerous than the year before." Last year, 5000 visitors were counted, 1000 to 1500 additional people this time. Because two steps can best cover different musical tastes, Schmidt is optimistic that he will be able to achieve his goal.
