The prosecutor's office of Braunschweig determined after press reports against the former general manager of VW Winterkorn because of the suspicion of criminal tax offenses.
This includes, among other things, transfers made over the last two years out of a total of about ten million euros of Swiss accounts, reported "Bild am Sonntag" with reference to the records of # 39; investigation. There is a suspicion that the taxes owed have not been paid. The Winterkorn lawyer dismissed the allegations.
In a note, according to the report, the prosecution argued that Winterkorn had probably moved property to obtain a "nest egg". Investigators suspect a connection with the Volkswagen diesel scandal. Given the Winterkorn case threatening the high claims for VW's damages, it should be proven breaches of duty.
