Audi is currently in the process of reversing its entire model program. One of the most important vehicles is the new Q3, which has lost its rounded shape to the second generation. The launch on the market is in November.

Among the new Audi models of the Audi Q3 is likely to give the most headaches to domestic and foreign competitors. Similar to just in front of him the new Audi A1, he has also lost his rounded body shapes and should therefore poach just in the competition of BMW and Mercedes. Compared to its predecessor, the second Q3 rose nearly four inches to 4.49 meters. The width and height have remained almost unchanged and yet the new Ingolstadt is much flatter and wider on the road than before.

Longer, but also flat and wider

This is less due to the increased wheelbase of 2.68 meters, but at the best proportions, the powerful shoulder and the roof line longer. The narrow LED headlights in the front view are lost through the powerful grille and sturdy air intakes. Much more differentiated from each other are the different variants of equipment, which can be individualized by contrasting elements on the body as well as the interior. There is a total of eleven paint colors to choose from. Inside, three lines of equipment can be combined freely with the three outer sets

Digital Instruments

Inside, the new Q3 is heavily based on the new Audi A6, A7 and A8 models. The analogue instruments are forgotten and so there are well known digital instruments, which are likely to differ considerably between the various Audi models. The group of instruments behind the leather steering wheel has a diagonal screen of 10.25 or 12.3 inches depending on the selection of equipment while the touch screen in the center console is between 8.8 and 10.1 inches tall. Even with the new Q3, Audi can pay for a course such as a navigation system and an automatic air conditioner.

The space is significantly better than its predecessor thanks to the increase in overall length and the wheelbase lengthened about eight centimeters. There is much more space for the head, shoulders and knees. The rear seat can be folded not only in 40:20:40 ratio, but also move 15 centimeters in length, which brings additional variability. Unfortunately, in row two, it lacks a sensible seat heater.

Depending on the position of the backrests, the loading volume of the new Audi Q3 is between 530 and 675 liters. enlarge The threshold height is 75 centimeters and for opening and closing the trunk electric, you have to pay as well as for most driver assistance systems, with congestion support for the 39, parking assistance and emergency braking function.

Three Gasoline Engines and One Diesel

When the market starts in the fall, a diesel engine and three gasoline engines are first available. Only the basic version with the 1.5-liter 110 kW / 150 hp turbo gasoline engine is optionally coupled to the six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The two-liter, two-liter, 140 kW / 190 hp / 320 Nm / 169 kW / 230 hp / 350 Nm two-cylinder engine offers standard four-wheel drive with multi-disc hydraulic clutch and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The diesel supply is manageable. First of all, there is only one TDI of two liters of 110 kW / 150 hp, later supplemented by a variant of 190 hp. The market launch for the new Audi Q3 is in November. Prices should start just over 30,000 euros. Other versions of the engine and, in particular, the sport version of the RS Q3 with a powerful 350 hp five-cylinder turbo will follow in the coming year. A hybrid plug-in variant is not even considered.
