Axpo sells four French wind farms

Volkswind GmbH, a subsidiary of Axpo, sold four wind farms from its extensive portfolio in France to Allianz Global Investors. This writes the company in a message. The French wind farms will be part of the Allianz Renewable Energy Fund II, which will invest a total of around 350 million euros in European wind and solar installations

Electricity for 25,000 homes

The four wind farms located at West of France, have a total installed capacity of 50.3 megawatts and produce with 20 turbines a total of 126 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This corresponds to the annual consumption of about 25 000 households. The investments will be transferred to the buyer with retroactive effect from October 2017. What Axpo does with the sale has not been communicated.

Five new wind farms in France

The subsidiary of Axpo Volkswind GmbH, based in Ganderkesee, Germany, is one of the leading developers and operators of wind farms in Germany and France. : The project pipeline includes wind farms of approximately 3000 megawatts at various stages of development.

In France, the Axpo subsidiary recently commissioned a new wind farm. Four more will follow later this year. 64 megawatts of electricity will be connected to the grid this year, after Volkswind has already built a total of 60 wind farms with a power of about 700 megawatts. (pbe)
