In group A sits Nico Beeler / Marco Krattiger, seeded No. 17, defeated the Czechs Ondrej Perusic / David Schweiner 21:16 and 21:14 in front of them.
Beeler / Krattiger, number 1 worldwide in Switzerland, enters the Netherlands his return. Dam Krattiger had been missing in Gstaad because of a thigh injury. "That's why we wanted to take point by point – we did it," says Krattiger after the match.
Beeler / Krattiger is convinced of a low rate of error and takes the lead Adrian Heidrich and Mirco Gerson lost their opening match in Group D with 14:21 and 16:21 against Polish No. 4 Piotr Kantor / Bartosz Losiak.
Eight groups of four teams per gender, the group winners qualify directly for the knockout stages, while the second place finishes in the sixteenth final.
