The daughter of the former Porsche Department Director for the bodywork had asked for equity compensation because she believes that the cars' design sports does not go to the descendants of the company founder Ferdinand Porsche back, but on his father Erwin Komenda. He was employed by Porsche for over 30 years until his death in 1966 and played a key role in the development of the famous body shape.
The lawsuit was filed years ago. At that time, the Komendas family had complained to Porsche that the former important employee would be systematically erased from the company's memory, not appearing sufficiently in the publications and the museum. Some could not, followed by a legal dispute. This also concerns financial requests. The Porsche girl wants some sort of extra payment for the important business figure over the last few decades. According to a spokesman for the court, the district court set the disputed value at a good 46 million euros. However, it will not come to receive evidence after the rejection of the application.
The applicant's lawyers now want to wait for the written judgment to decide whether to appeal. Porsche had already argued that Komenda was indeed an important employee, but only one of many. There was no claim to copyright of his work. Following the court's decision, a spokeswoman for our newspaper said: "We would like to point out that whatever the decision, Porsche AG will continue to pay tribute to Erwin Komenda's work in the future.
