Crowdfunding: Shenmue 3 receives an automatic combat system

Shenmue 3 can not match Star Citizen – currently the king of crowdfunding with about 190 million US dollars. But at least: The action-adventure of Japanese development studio Ys Net just made the mark of 7 million US dollars. Fans collected the money in 2015 via Kickstarter and have since provided additional funds for the project through a portal called Slacker Backer. And this, although the creators have not done too much publicity for later support.

With 7 million US dollars now Function unlocked: an automatic combat system that will be added to the system normal fight. Beginners should therefore largely be spared from the action sequences, while advanced players can create a uniform hand and fist. How the system works in detail is not known yet.

There are currently more extensible barriers available. At $ 8 million, there will be more mini-games and $ 8.5 million, the opportunity to win an extended kung fu championship is welcome. At $ 11 million, one of the game's locations is to get an enlarged magical maze.

Shenmue 3 should be released in 2019 for Windows PC and Playstation 4; if there will be subsequent conversions for other platforms, it is not known. The players should – as in the developed by Sega for the Dreamcast and released in 2000, for the time of the extremely ambitious predecessors – with the main character Ryo Hazuki to explore the world and look for the murderer of his father. The program is based on Unreal Engine 4.

From Shenmue 1 and 2 Sega wants to bring on August 21, 2018 a remaster for Windows PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 on the market. The new version should offer scalable resolution, choices between a modern and classic control scheme, a revised user interface, and voice output in Japanese or optional English.
