Helvetic Airways, which currently employs 440 people, has placed an important order with the Brazilian Embraer on the sidelines of the Farnborough Air Show. There are fixed orders for 12 E190-E2 aircraft. In addition, Embraer also offers the E195-E2 according to the model.

If the purchase program is fully implemented, Helvetic Airways, controlled by the Ebner family, will invest 1.5 billion dollars. The E2 is considered a promising development in the regional segment, with maximum performance in terms of noise, pollution and efficiency.

Helvetic Airways is currently implementing a long-term fleet renewal, which will no doubt be coordinated with Swiss Flight Orders are processed. From the autumn of 2019 to the autumn of 2021, five Fokker-100 and seven Embraer E1-190 will be eliminated. The head of Helvetic Airways, Tobias Pogorevc, expects an easy rehab of the pilots, since the new Embraer aircraft is similar to the E1 system.
