First images of Huawei Mate 20

If Huawei keeps its annual rhythm, Mate 20 will be presented this autumn. The smartphone is supposed to have a screen with a diagonal of an incredible 6.9 inches and therefore be significantly larger than the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Now another detail on the display has become known – in the form of a sketch and a photo. Both images come from the Chinese site MyDrivers .

Huawei Mate 20 is said to have no guts.

There are very few details on the published photo. To make matters worse, that the system view was apparently applied by photomontage retrospectively on the smartphone. Nevertheless, the image clearly shows that Mate 20 will probably not have Notch. The smartphone case will probably be quite large.

The OLED panel required for the production of the Mate 20 has already been ordered by Huawei from Samsung. About the resolution is currently unknown. It is also unclear to what extent the base model Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be different and which of the two models provided by the manufacturer for Europe.

In addition to the photo, MyDrivers also released a sketch showing the front and the back – as well as the back of the Mate 20 is to be seen. The front panel shows the bar again above and below the display. The sketch also indicates a slight curvature of the screen to the sides. The so-called Huawei edge screen had already used in a previous model Mate, which, however, did not come to Germany. There is no fingerprint sensor on the front. Instead, there seems to be two front cameras. Also on the back, you can see details on the camera. Huawei will also equip the Mate 20 with a triple camera. For the first time, the manufacturer used the three-lens camera in the Huawei P20 Pro, which was introduced in the spring.

The sensors of the triple camera are positioned one below the Other in the middle of the back. As with the P20 Pro, the first two sensors also form a single optical unit. The third sensor is located separately below. Due to the position of the camera Huawei omitted at this time apparently on a fingerprint sensor. Also at the front of this was not visible, suggesting that it may be under the display window. Huawei had already relocated to the Mate 10 Pro Porsche Edition. But it is also possible that the manufacturer relies entirely on Face ID to unlock the system. This would be appropriate, since the sketch seems to show two front cameras in front of

Display Comes from Samsung

Display Expert Samsung the first competitor Huawei has delivered the first test models of the billboards. As reported by the Korean business portal The Bell. Huawei ordered Samsung's 6.9-inch AMOLED screens, which are likely to be destined for the new flagship Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 20 will probably be presented to the public in the basic and pro version this fall. Everything speaks for this date, because according to the report of The Bell the huge AMOLED panels of the third quarter of 2018 are already in mass production. A presentation in the first quarter of 2019 but also conceivable.

Mate 20 Pro with a Huge AMOLED Display

If the Huawei Mate 20 Pro really comes with a 6.9-inch display, it would be significantly bigger than its direct predecessor, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro with display 6 inches. Other current smartphones, which were called there not so long ago as "Phablet", would put the Mate 20 Pro in the bag: The Galaxy Note 8 measures 6.3 inches. The supposed successor of the smartphone stylus, the Galaxy Note 9, should not be much bigger with a 6.38-inch screen. Compared to Samsung phones, however, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro would have a flat screen rather than curved.

Experts and analysts expect Huawei to take this "giant leap", mainly because of the Chinese market. Chinese consumers preferred larger displays, mainly because of the space required for relatively large Chinese language letters. Other rumors and speculations about the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are surprisingly still in the frame. As he looks at the new flagship products of the Apple House, which should also come in the fall, quite different:
