First of all, Jason Joseph, 19, candidate for the Basel stock exchange, set a national record on 110m hurdles. The U-20 European champions stayed in the semifinal with 13.39 seconds two hundredths lower than the previous record set by Andreas Kundert ten years ago.

A little later, Alex Wilson broke the Swiss record for 200m. The 27-year-old native of Basel, from Jamaica, was 20.14 seconds to eleven hundredths of his own record. It was already the fourth Swiss record for Wilson on half of the lap this year. The 20.14 seconds are synonymous with the second fastest time of a European this year.
