Lörrach. What party! The training "ludere", which means "to play", is excited from the first note to the last concert of the jazz zone. From São Paulo, an illustrious foursome came to the border triangle. The musicians did not have the ardent jazz to brazil in their luggage, but a special mix: dignified and worn jazz with a varied mind, played excellently. Especially, the brilliant solos on trumpet and piano and their corrupted musical dialogue over and over again.
Incidentally, in the jazz area "ludere" meets the son of the famous guitarist Baden Powell, pianist Philippe Baden Powell. He also took trumpet player Rubinho Antunes, Swiss bassist Bruno Barbosa and drummer Julie Saury to Lörrach for the performance of the guest
and so the performance was in many ways a tribute to Baden Powell, who died in 2000. Almost everything revolved around this talented musician. Among other things, his son Philippe has dedicated the play "Let's go to your son".
Jazztone's president, Werner Büche, was particularly pleased with this Samba Brazil Jazz Party. It had taken some time before the deal was concluded. "I've always admired Baden Powell," he said. He has often experienced this musician in Baden-Baden, bought him innumerable records and was always ecstatic with his musical talents. Therefore, he simply wanted to live his son in Lörrach. "And it was well worth it," Büche said and spoke of a worthy conclusion to the concert series in "Jazztone," before starting the summer break of about two months. By the way, it was the last appearance of "ludere" as part of their extended European tour.
Basically, the quartet's music is structurally and rhythmically linked to traditional jazz and at the same time brings together international and global influences. From time to time, samba or other Brazilian roots are unmistakable. Smartly, Philippe Baden Powell uses his arts acquired at the Conservatory of Rio de Janeiro
It is not by chance that he received an award in the "Piano Solo" section of Montreux.
