According to a warning from the Confederation's Information Assurance and Reporting Center (Melani), there are more and more reports in recent days about fraudulent business calls.

In recent days, in turn, calls to potential corporate victims, in which the attackers pose as bank employees. This is currently being warned by the Confederation's Reporting and Analysis Center Insurance Information (Melani). Callers request the execution of payments or claim to have to make an update in e-banking, which will then be tested.

Attackers usually try to persuade company employees to install remote access software (such as NTR Cloud, TeamViewer) and then connect to the computer from the victim and pretend to perform an electronic banking update. Subsequently, the authors claim that the update should be tested and try to persuade the victim to enter their identification information for the company's online banking.

Attackers wanted to use a test payment to verify the system's operation. If the payment is protected by a collective signature, the fraudsters will try to convince the victim to organize all the signatories authorized to release the payment.

Other Scams

In another variant, victims receive instructions due to urgent updates abandoning e-banking for a few days. In the case of urgent transactions, the victim must contact a number given by fraudsters. If the victim calls the wrong bank employee to perform an e-banking transaction, the user name and password as well as the one-time password will be requested. The attacker has access to the e-banking of the company. This procedure can be repeated until the victim becomes suspicious.
