Microsoft is in the process of tweaking the registry

This year is still a major update for Windows 10 on. The release dubbed Redstone 5 is expected to be released in October and, for the first time in a few years, will include some new features for the now somewhat dusty registry editor. The current version in the Windows Insider program is to receive two new features. For example, Microsoft has redesigned the address bar and added an AutoComplete feature, which most browsers might know for example from the browser.

When you type a path in the registry, the new address bar suggests all the corresponding subfolders. This is intended to speed up navigation in the recording database, since the desired keys can then be selected simply with the mouse or keyboard. The second new feature also affects the address bar. If you press [Ctrl] and [Zurück] the current part to the left of the slider disappears while [Ctrl] and [Del] delete the part to the right.

Redstone 5 will also receive cross-tabs for the first time. Until now, Windows only allows tabs in a program, for example in Firefox. In the future, different programs should be grouped in a window. However, they must comply with the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) standard. The function should provide more order on the desktop. The cloud cache for Windows 10, which has been announced for some time, will be released this fall. The data copied to the clipboard will also be available on other related systems.

However, it will be necessary to see if Microsoft can maintain the release date of Redstone 5. The spring update, dubbed Redstone 4, was delayed by several weeks.
