Claudia Helming, founder and CEO of Dawanda, said the company has established handmade products as a new category in online retail. "However, in recent years, we have had to admit more and more that we will not be successful on our own in advancing growth."

According to company information, there should be severance pay for employees. Most of them have already been released.
Vendors are free to switch to Etsy's US portal
Buyers and sellers of the platform have recommended switching to the US shopping portal Etsy. The two companies announced Saturday that they had reached an agreement. A moving tool will be available for sellers in Dawanda early next week. With the closure of the platform, visitors to the Dawanda website would be redirected to Etsy.
