May 2018 (preliminary): Production in the manufacturing industry

April 2018 (revised): Production in the manufacturing industry
* – 1.3% compared to the previous month (adjusted for price, season and calendar)
* + 1.4% over the same month of the previous year (adjusted price and schedule)
Production in the manufacturing sector was provisional
Information from the Federal Office of Statistics (Destatis) in May 2018,
Seasonal and adjusted 2.6% higher than the previous month. For the
April 2018 came after the revision of the preliminary results a
Decline of 1.3% compared to March 2018 (provisional value: -1.0%)
Industrial production in May 2018 is down 2.7% compared to the previous year
Rose last month. Within the industry, production has decreased
0.9% investment and production of consumer goods
6.5% too. For intermediate goods, production has increased
the previous month of 3.0%. Outside of the industry was the
Energy production in May 2018 0.8% more than in April 2018, the
Construction output increased 3.1%.
Rates of change are based on the production index of the
Manufacturing industry (2015 = 100). The seasonal and
